Wine Enthusiast Magazine (90 Points)

"Invitingly crisp aromas of lime sorbet, tangerine peel and chalk make for an engaging nose on this bottling. Ripe peach and honeysuckle flavors come alive on the palate, alongside a refreshing mandarin granita element." - Matt Kettmann

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
This crisp and refreshing white wine presents bright aromas of guava, honeydew melon, and grapefruit with subtle notes of Asian pear and apricot. With a refreshing minerality and zesty acidity leading to a clean finish, this light-bodied wine is an excellent accompaniment to fresh seafood dishes and light salads.
Vineyard Notes
Temecula Valley has long been known for its fertile soil, which is often referred to as "rich dirt." The primary soil type found in the Temecula Valley is a sandy loam soil. Sandy loam soils consist of a mixture of sand, silt, and clay particles, offering good drainage while retaining some moisture. The rich dirt soil of the Temecula Valley is highly suitable for vineyard cultivation. This well-draining soil helps prevent excess water accumulation around the grapevines' roots, reducing the risk of rot and disease.
Production Notes
Harvest kicked off in early August, with the typical gap between the white and red varietal maturation being almost nonexistent. This frenzied tempo continued until the rains provided our team a much-needed break. Following the rain, grapes left to hang through October enjoyed mild weather days that allowed us to wait for perfect ripeness. Our white wines from this harvest have shown perfect acidity and freshness with remarkable flavors and textures. Red wines are displaying excellent structure with deep red colors, luxurious tannins, and exquisite fruit- forward aromatics. We believe the unique weather events that defined the vintage will showcase the full range of flavors that Napa Valley wines are so well known for from crisp and vibrant to dense and powerful.
Winemaker Notes
Vermentino is a traditional Mediterranean white grape variety grown in Nothern Italy and the South of France.
