ACCOLADES
Lisa Perrotti-Brown, The Wine Independent (95 Points) - The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Manley Lane Vineyard, with 3% Merlot in the blend, is deep garnet-purple in color. It shoots out with vivacious notes of wild blueberries, mulberries, and juicy plums leading to a core of cassis, pencil lead, and cedar chest. The medium to full-bodied palate is chock full of evocative black and blue berry layers, supported by plush tannins and finishing with a peppery lift.
Jeb Dunnuck (94 Points) - Pure cassis, blue fruits, graphite, cocoa powder, and sappy spring flower notes all define the 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Manley Lane, a pure, upfront, sexy, sweetly fruited Rutherford Cabernet Sauvignon. It's one of the more fruit-forward, sexy wines in the lineup, yet the balance is spot on, it has ripe tannins, and I see no reason it shouldn't evolve for 15-20 years if well stored.
James Suckling (94 Points) - Ripe blackberries and plums with hints of walnuts, dark spices and moist earth. Full-bodied, tense and vivid with a deep core of dark fruit and firm, very fine, melted tannins. Delicious, with balance and precision. Long, mineral finish. Better in two to three years.
The Wine Advocate (92+) - The 2021 Cabernet Sauvignon Manley Lane Vineyard is a promising effort. Cherries, dusty earth and dried spices all appear on the nose, while the medium to full-bodied palate is balanced, silky and refined. Try to hold onto a bottle or two for at least several years to see what it really has to offer.
