2008 IL BARONE, Cabernet Sauvignon

2008 IL BARONE, Cabernet Sauvignon

The Il Barone is dense and darkly pigmented, with subtle aromas of sweet oak and savory spices. The complex fruit aromas are evocative of black fruits -juicy currants, black cherry and blackberries. The 2008 Il Barone is a wine defined by lush flavors and supple tannins, with an enduring fruit focus on the finish. The palate is rich and well-structured, with just enough acidity to keep the lingering finish fresh and clean. Capable of long term aging.

A wax sealed bottle is a beautiful addition to your wine rack, but can be intimidating when it comes time to open it.  This is easier than you may think!  Simply plunge your corkscrew through the wax, as if it were not even there.  Lift the cork slightly and wipe any wax crumbles from the opening.  Pull the cork the rest of the way out and enjoy!

ACCOLADES

• Robert Parker (92 Points)

"This was just released and is tasting very nice already after only 30 minutes of decanting. In the mouth you can tell that the wine needs time, but bursts with flavors of blue and black fruit, hint of white pepper, and a silky almost velvety texture. Excellent tannins and good length and balance. This wine will age nicely for maximum benefit."

I had the opportunity to do wine tasting for my first trip to NAPA Valley and of all the reds i tasted this blew me away as the best tasting, smooth flavor. I have compared others and there are no comparisons to date. I highly recommend you try this. I'm trying my best not to go through the case i bought.

Outrageous. Absolutely amazing. Beautiful rich flavor. Great nose. Makes one appreciate spending all that money for that wine all those years ago. This wine is now 12 years old and it is exceptional. Hats off to you Castello Di amorosa
