An exceptionally balanced 2009 Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon Magnum, with enticing notes of black cherry, cassis, and dark chocolate with hints of savory spice. Excellent now but can age well for over a decade.
Accolades
93 Points, Cellar Selection - Steve Heimoff, Wine Enthusiast Magazine - They held this Cab back for nearly four years, but it’s still pretty closed and tannic. Give it another six in the cellar, to let it begin to throw some sediment, which will let the blackberries and cherries drink sweet and pure.
91 Points - Antonio Galloni, The Wine Advocate - A dark, inky wine, Castello di Amorosa’s 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon explodes onto the palate with dark fruit. This large-scaled, voluptuous Cabernet is all about textural depth and richness, both of which it achieves with plenty of style. Layers of lush, dark fruit flow through to the generous, inviting finish. The 2010 is 91% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Merlot and 1% Petit Verdot. Anticipated maturity: 2013-2019.

Tasting Notes
Enticing notes of tobacco box, cassis, and dark chocolate with hints of earthy spices, this full-bodied wine displays polished tannins and an elegantly balanced mouthfeel. Excellent now but can age well for over a decade.
Vineyard Notes
A blend of fruit from some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon growing regions in Napa Valley, including our own Diamond Mountain District estate vineyard which surrounds the Castello. A touch of Petit Verdot and Malbec balance the rich dark fruit and tannins of the Cabernet, adding a vibrancy to its lush mouthfeel and lingering finish.
Production Notes
A dry, barrel-aged red wine from the Napa Valley. Shows excellent aging potential for the next decade or more.
Food Pairing Notes
Excellent to pair with steak with cocoa and coffee rub, chicken mole, or grilled meats.
