This elegant single-vineyard 2017 Cabernet Sauvignon comes from the legendary Rutherford AVA in The Napa Valley. The silky Cabernet shows hints of blueberries, blackberry jam, cassis, and graphite. The Morisoli Family started growing grapes in western Rutherford around 1900. This wine comes from a blend of these “old” and “young” blocks, and it expresses the Rutherford appellation’s famous “dust” character, with its unique soft, silky tannins. Expected to easily age 15+ years.

Vineyard Notes

Mike Morisoli farms this vineyard, located on the west side of Highway 29 and just south of Niebaum Lane, within the heart of the famed “Rutherford Bench.” The Morisoli Family started growing grapes in western Rutherford around 1900, and this particular vineyard was purchased by Mike’s parents in 1971. Now sustainably farmed by the 4th generation, much of the vineyard was planted to Cabernet Sauvignon in the late 1980s with a smaller area redeveloped in 2006. This wine comes from a blend of these “old” and “young” blocks, and it expresses the Rutherford appellation’s famous “dust” character, with its unique soft, silky tannins.
