Vineyard Notes
A blend of fruit from some of the best Cabernet Sauvignon growing regions in Napa Valley, including our own Diamond Mountain District estate vineyard which surrounds the Castello. A touch of Petit Verdot and Malbec balance the rich dark fruit and tannins of the Cabernet, adding a vibrancy to its lush mouthfeel and lingering finish.
Production Notes
A dry, barrel-aged red wine from the Napa Valley. Shows excellent aging potential for the next decade or more.
Winemaker Notes
Following the very small 2015 harvest, it was heartening to see the vines recover and bounce back to produce not only extremely high quality fruit but also some bounty in 2016! Harvest was earlier than expected, and we observed optimum flavor and phenolic development progress as we harvested. Across the board, acids are firm and pH is slightly lower, so the wines should be well-structured with very good aging potential. This is an exciting vintage with a lot to like! - Brooks Painter, Director of Winemaking
Food Pairing Notes
Excellent to pair with steak with cocoa and coffee rub, chicken mole, or grilled meats.

Ever since I tried this wine it has been the standard for all Cabs. No others have come close in my opinion.

We were given 2 bottles of this wine from our next door neighbors, we were immediately impressed with the smooth taste and quality of the wine. We plan to purchase more.

Oakey, hints of leather and raspberry. Lacking complexity a bit, but still very good, round and smooth
