"The intent here is obviously to capture a Super Tuscan vibe with its Bordeaux varieties taking the lead and getting a nice acid push from just a bit of Sangiovese.  Dark berry fruit, sandalwood and sage ride a firm grip and medium plus oak toast through a long finish that blows out in integrated fashion.  Bistecca, please." - Rich Cook

Wine Profile
Tasting Notes
Pretty aromas of red currant and black cherry mingle with black fruits with a touch earthy, cured meat aromas that frame the wild berry flavors and toasty oak on the palate. The wine shows polish with a good balance between acidity and round and ripe flavors. Finishes with moderate, well-integrated tannins. Delicious and supple now, it will continue to improve for several more years to come.
Winemaker Notes
Following the very small 2015 harvest, it was heartening to see the vines recover and bounce back to produce not only extremely high quality fruit but also some bounty in 2016! Harvest was earlier than expected, and we observed optimum flavor and phenolic development progress as we harvested. Across the board, acids are firm and pH is slightly lower, so the wines should be well-structured with very good aging potential. This is an exciting vintage with a lot to like! - Brooks Painter, Director of Winemaking
Food Pairing Notes
Pairs well with beef or lamb roast in a red wine sauce, duck and rich, roasted vegetable dishes.
Other Notes
Meant for cellaring up to 10 years.

Good blend! A little bit more jammy than I prefer, but well balanced and easy to drink. Tasted the most recent vintage at the winery today. I prefer the older vintage, but expect this will improve with some age.

Smooth with lighter finish. Currants, slight fruit and pepper.

Love this wine from this vineyard. Will be a wine we get a few times a year given the price is outside what we like to spend on everyday wine.
